Active Shooter Response

Here in the United States we are dealing with an element of threat that has never been seen in our country before. Here at EDI we believe it is the responsibility of each regular citizen, family, organization, and corporate entity to empower themselves through hands on instruction, training, and the latest and up to date research available.

In response to the national increase of Active Shooter incidents, EDI has developed a training course that is designed specifically to address the threat of mass shootings at the workplace, on school grounds, college and universities, shopping centers, businesses, and churches.

The FBI Active Shooter Incidents Study shows a steady increase in annual active shooter events over the last 15 years. Research has shown over half of all Active shooter events in the United States have been stopped by either a armed or unarmed bystander or bystanders. The average Active Shooter event can last from a few minutes to well over 10 minutes, with an average law enforcement response time of around 7 minutes.

The situational aware citizen is most likely the first and often the only line of defense between an armed threat and innocent bystanders and loved ones. Here at EDI, we provide both educational active shooter instruction with hands on application, and concepts with dealing with an active shooter response threat. EDI has had extensive active shooter response training and research into the last 15 years of Active Shooter events. We are certified as a Active Shooter Response Instructor with over 18 years of emergency and security training.

Students will be instructed in real world scenarios requiring them to work both as an individual as well as in teams to confront an active shooter, triangle of threat assessment, barricade procedures, restrain techniques, dealing with law enforcement, emergency evacuation, and possibility of multiple threats. All of our Active Shooter courses are high demanding and require hands on application of all techniques. EDI models the most elite active shooter training available through Homeland Security, FBI, and the Israeli Counter Terrorism School.

EDI provides a mobile training team to meet your needs regardless of location. If you have any questions or would like to arrange a Active Shooter Response Training at your facility, please contact us directly.

OSHA’S General Duty Clause  |  Are you in Compliance?

All employers have a duty to provide their employees with a workplace free from recognized hazards likely to cause death or serious physical harm [General Duty Clause 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety & Health ACT].

Recent court rulings throughout the country have allowed victims of active shooters to proceed with lawsuits alleging that their employers were negligent for failing to provide defensive training to their workforce.
